Heirloom is seeking a virtual Front End Developer for an exciting consumer technology startup.  The Front End Developer is responsible for building the client side of Heirloom’s applications and contributing to continuous integration and continuous development (CI/CD).  The Front End Developer reports to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and works closely with the technology team.  The Front End Developer is intuitive, curious, and motivated to develop great technology.  If you have proven experience in front end coding, we’d like to meet you. 


Responsibilities:


  • Use your own laptop/desktop and internet connection as your work center
  • Design mobile-based features
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed
  • Develop new user-facing features using React.js
  • Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
  • Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code
  • Collaborate with back-end developers to improve usability
  • Get feedback from, and build solutions for, users and customers
  • Write functional requirement documents and guides
  • Help back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting
  • Ensure high quality graphic standards and brand consistency
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies
  • Participate in agile project management standup meetings
  • Make recommendations regarding technology strategy
  • Engage with the leadership team as required

Skills:

  • Proven work experience as a front end developer
  • Experience with popular React.js workflows
  • In-depth understanding of the entire web development process
  • Understanding of layout aesthetics
  • Knowledge of SEO principles
  • Proficient in developing application programming interfaces (API)
  • Proficient in Google Workplace
  • Familiarity with core elements of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Familiarity with browser testing and debugging
  • Familiarity with Adobe Suite and content management systems (CMS)
  • Excellent analytical and multitasking skills
  • Flexibility to work on a rapidly evolving schedule
  • High school diploma; BS/BA in computer science preferred

Job Type:  Remote.  Contract, intern, part-time, full-time, and equity positions considered.
